I went there because it got many recommendations as I was looking for someone new. He was okay. I wanted a complete body scan and he seemed to rush through it. I am hoping it was accurate but I saw him for maybe 5 minutes, if that. I asked several questions about some prescriptions that he was prescribing for some eczema. He just kept saying everything is written down on a handout he gave me. I probably had other questions as well but again felt very rushed. Maybe the other people in his practice are better but I don't think any of them are dematologists, only physician assistants, which is why I wanted to see him.

I came in to see the PA-C, Ms. Lainey Ortiz for the rashes on my face. She examined and prescribed a few creams to help. She was patient and knowledgeable with all the questions I have. I will preface this that I already spoke with the medical director and was issued an apology. I am writing this because I think others should be aware. We saw Lainey Ortiz, PA she was wonderful at diagnosis my son’s skin condition. She was kind and personable. My son has an orthopedic injury (arm is in a brace) completely unrelated to the skin condition and told him he will and I quote “never play baseball again” “it will become arthritic and you will be in pain for a long time” my son is 12. This was for a dermatology appointment. I as his mother had to cut her off and explain that CHOP did not feel the same way as to get her to stop. She went completely out of her scope of practice and I had to calm my son down after we left for days. He was crying thinking he will never play the sport he loves more than life again. I understand she may have been coming from a good place, however this is a CHILD! Where was her humanity? Why did she think she could speak out of her scope? I am still in shock anyone let alone a professional would talk to a child like this. If you are reading this looking for reviews to decide on a dermatologist try another place. There are dermatologists everywhere.
